**Position: - UX Researcher - Senior** **Location: 222 Jarvis St Toronto, ON** **Contract: - 6-12+ months** - skills/knowledge of product management, specifically being able to contribute to a roadmap for product improvements in an **agile development cycle.**: - ability to **explain and justify design choices with user-research based evidence**: - ability to advocate for the user's perspective while empathizing and **collaborating with business, development, and executive stakeholder groups.**: - k**nowledge and experience with service design methodology.** Able to research, analyze, and articulate the "behind the curtain" infrastructure and technical complexities that support front-end experiences. HM Notes: Designing Portfolio is required. **Must haves** Leads and conducts business analysis in order to assess client’s business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined - Develops strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives - Plans and tracks their deliverables to ensure timelines are met and the necessary risks are flagged early for resolution - Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience - Experience collaborating with designers and stakeholders to understand business requirement - Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features - Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills - Strong stakeholder management skills and has the ability to explain complex, technical concepts in plain language - Political Acuity and understands how to present to wide range of audiences including government executives, external stakeholders, etc. UX Researcher Description OBR Program requires a resource who possesses both the business analysis and user experience (UX) expertise to help collect business requirements and identify ways to improve user experience with the OBR system, which is expanding its user base. The business analyst/UX researcher primary responsibilities are as follows: - Provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs. - Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization. - Utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods, conduct research of user behaviours, digital needs and motivations - Design the research plan with clear objectives, targeting users based on their needs and challenges - Write usability discussion guides to moderate user research sessions and document responses - Take a user-centered design approach and analyze survey data to document recommendations based on the goals of the project and the needs of the users **Skills**: Experience and Skill Set Requirements Business Analysis Skills (30%) - Leads and conducts business analysis in order to assess client’s business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined - Applies re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative and cost effective service delivery approaches - Leads and conducts business analysis at varying levels of detail appropriate to the project and phases of project. Not mandatory, but an asset if have knowledge of OPS Unified Project Management Methodology, Enterprise Architecture and Gating Process, and OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies - Develops strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives - Develops sound processes for requirements gathering including but not limited to JAD sessions, interviews, mockups, etc. - Conducts business modeling; use case modeling; conceptual and logical data modeling; process and data flow modeling; use case surveys; business rules definition and non-functional requirements definitions for assigned projects - Monitors progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders - Develops performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and conducts follow-up - Experience developing strategies, preparing business cases and cost-benefit analysis - Experience conducting requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes and conducting stakeholder engagement - Experience in the use of a range of technical tools to document conceptual requirements and scope - Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies Communication/Interpersonal Skills (30%) - Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal a
