**Full Time Live-in Treatment -Overnight Awake Child and Youth Worker**

York Hills is currently seeking an Overnight Live-in Treatment Worker to join our team located in Queensville, Ontario. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children with emotional and behaviour challenges as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a residential setting. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others. Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Program Manager, this role is an integral part of the Live-in Care Program, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic environment that addresses the social and emotional needs of latency-aged children. The primary focus of this role is to assist children to develop their emotional regulation, self-esteem and social skills, as well as to learn to build meaningful relationships and to modify dysfunctional behaviours. The Overnight Awake Child and Youth Worker in the Milieu environment works a 40 hour work week, and directly clients ensuring safety and security on the overnights, as well as contributing to ongoing assessment and interventions with the multidisciplinary treatment team.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Household maintenance and duties that includes meal planning and preparation, laundry, deep cleaning, regular checks/supervision of clients.
- Participating in Treatment Reviews and Meetings in the role of client advocacy.
- Attend Program Team Meetings.
- Co-development, implementation and tracking of treatment interventions. This includes reporting outcomes of interventions.

**Position Qualifications**:

- Child and Youth Worker or a diploma in a related field from a recognized Community College, or a Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Formal Crisis Intervention Training.
- Valid Drivers’ License and use of a vehicle.
- Ability to speak French or another language is desirable.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Demonstrate initiative, integrity & honesty.
- Be able to provide nurturance and care to clients in a home setting.
- Experience in utilizing a variety of interventions, skilled in milieu counselling, assessment and treatment.
- Be a confident decision maker and demonstrate a commitment to the children and the ability to be an active part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrate responsibility for inclusive behaviour with staff, students and clients.
- Demonstrate capacity to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as observation and assessment skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Be familiar with computers for the purposes of data entry, information sourcing and report writing.
