**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Under the direction of a Project Manager, Restoration Projects, the Assistant Environmental Technician is responsible for providing project support related to the planning, design and implementation of ecological restoration projects.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provide support for the planning, coordination and development of habitat creation and restoration projects.
- Assist with the preparation of contracts, partnership agreements and the procurement of materials and services.
- Support the preparation of various project correspondence including project briefs and backgrounders, external communications and reports of a general and technical nature.
- Assist with the purchasing of relevant equipment and materials as needed.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of biophysical information, including habitat assessments and restoration opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of maps/reports on technical and/or field conditions.
- Communicate with internal departments/staff to update corporate database as required.
- Liaise with the general public, landowners and staff of other agencies as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science or related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience related to major tasks.
- Knowledge of ecological restoration projects, including
- fish and wildlife habitat requirements. Regulatory legislation a strong asset.
- Demonstrated orthophoto interpretation.
- Computer proficiency with software experience (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ESRI software suite including ArcGIS).
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
