**About the Opportunity**:
The Health, Safety and Risk Coordinator is responsible for administering Health & Safety programs at KidsAbility, with a particular focus on infection prevention and control, health & safety related legislation interpretation and compliance initiatives and training., The Health, Safety and Risk Coordinator will partner with teams and managers by providing support, guidance and direction to build capacity and leadership for health, safety and risk management.

The Health, Safety, and Enterprise Risk Coordinator’s specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

- Health and Safety policy, procedure and guideline development, review and support.
- Maintains current knowledge of legislative changes and compliance requirements ensuring organizational compliance in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act, Canada Labour Code, and associated regulations.
- Develop, facilitate, schedule and maintain health & safety related training for employees, students, volunteers and other organizational stakeholders as legislated (i.e. Health & Safety WHMIS, Supervisor, First Aid, Fit Testing etc.)
- Establish, implement, and manage the preventative health, safety and compliance-based programs.
- Attends meetings, supports and provides consultation to the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and other associated committees/working groups.
- Ensures workplace audits, inspections and surveys are conducted to ensure compliance, evaluate performance trends, identify corrective action and tests for compliance.
- Supports employees and managers regarding client health and safety related concerns including client medical/safety alerts or concerns and infection prevention and control.
- Supports the implementation, maintenance and improvement of KidsAbility’s risk management program and framework.
- Help set guidelines for clinical administrative systems, processes, procedures, and reporting structures to detect, monitor, assess, mitigate, and prevent risks to clients and minimize financial lose.
- Work in collaboration with managers on client safety issues and support and incident reporting processes as they relate to clinical programs, and risk identification & mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the timely completion of accident/incident reporting to WSIB as well as claims management and supporting the employee Return to Work program.

**More About You**:
To qualify, applicants must be a Regulated Health Professional with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in quality, safety and/or risk management role, in addition to:

- Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation skills of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and relevant Human Resources legislation.
- Trained and experienced in providing ergonomic assessments and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate the activities of other staff members and leadership when required.
- Good judgment, interpretation and decision-making abilities. Responsible for supporting safety initiatives and risk identification & mitigation strategies.
- Self-directed and able to deal with multiple stake holders while managing priorities and workload management.
- Able to function independently and maintain confidentiality in this challenging position.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, trust and credibility.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License, and availability of a motor vehicle required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills and experience will be strong assets:

- CHRP and/or CHRL designation is an asset.
