**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience working with at-risk youth
- Experience working with at-risk youth with complex mental and behavioural challenges
- Experience or knowledge of trauma-informed care
- Ability to set strong boundaries
- Experience doing youth outreach
- Knowledge regarding brain injury and higher rates of impulsivity emotional dysregulation, processing disorder, lower ability to evaluate risk and diminished critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of neuro-cognitive disorders and presentation
- Experience working with clients with self-injurious behaviour
- Understanding of attachment disorders
- Demonstrated knowledge of FASD, ADHD, and attachment and trauma issues (or desire to learn)
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check (takes up to 6 weeks to process so please plan accordingly)
- Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:

- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Building positive working relationships with the youth, their families, community members, and other professionals (e.g. social workers, probation officers)
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication
- Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
- Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and youth care plans
- Performing outreach throughout the night

**Salary**: $21.68-$23.50/hour plus benefits
