**Role Overview**
As a **Field Service Technician**, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our machines perform at their best. This position blends technical service work, travel, and customer support. You’ll be responsible for **installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting** units while delivering a seamless and positive experience for every client.
**A Day in the Life**
Here’s what a typical day could look like as a Service Technician:
- **Morning**: Review your schedule/task. Prepare for the task, tools/parts. You might be setting up a brand-new machine or running diagnostics on an existing unit, building out assets for a new install.
- **Midday**: continue to work at the task list. Communicating with team members on item/issues that might have occurred and need to work towards completing the task.
- **Afternoon**: continuing on complete the outline task. Help with trouble shooting on hand issues. Working together with other technicians to complete task list.
- **End of Day**: Submit your daily reports, update the team on any major issues, and prepare for tomorrow’s schedule. Sometimes you’ll return home, other times you’ll be staying overnight depending on travel needs.
No two days are the same — you’ll be solving problems, meeting clients, and keeping our machines running strong.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Installation & Setup**
- Deliver, position, and install automated pizza machines at customer sites.
- Perform initial configuration, calibration, and testing to ensure machines are fully operational.
- Train clients and their staff on proper machine operation, safety protocols, and basic troubleshooting.
**Maintenance & Service**
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize machine uptime and performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair both mechanical and electrical issues.
- Replace worn or faulty parts and ensure all repairs meet company standards.
- Document service work, part usage, and technical findings in detailed reports.
**Customer Support**
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients during on-site service calls.
- Provide clear communication and updates to customers regarding timelines and solutions.
- Educate clients on best practices to reduce future issues and maintain performance.
- Always represent the company professionally and positively.
**Travel & Logistics**
- Travel regularly to customer sites (domestic and/or international, as needed).
- Manage scheduling, travel, and equipment logistics efficiently.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in excellent condition.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Experience**: Prior field service, equipment installation, mechanical, or electrical background strongly preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems, read schematics, and use diagnostic tools.
- **Physical Ability**: Must be able to lift to **60 lbs** and perform physically active tasks (moving equipment, bending, standing, etc.).
- **Travel**: Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to changing schedules.
- **Communication**: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly explain technical concepts to customers.
- **Mindset**: Problem-solver with a customer-first attitude and professional demeanor.
- **Requirements**: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (passport may be required for international travel). Forklift licence is needed.
