**Summary**: The Geospatial Field Technician role requires a highly motivated self-starter that will be responsible for processing and analyzing data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conducting surveys as required. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Travel to various customer requested site visits to prospective customer locations to determine best and most effective ways to construct fibre optic networks at those facilities
- Complete pole survey audit using IKE GPS photographic data acquisition system
- Operate GPS and other field data gathering devices
- Mobile Mapping - Operate Trimble MX50/Leica LiDAR data collection device a
- Collect aerial and underground field data for telecom design and permitting by physically walking the plant
- Assist in the development and implementation of a state-of-the-art LiDAR program tailored to meet the specific needs of infrastructure design projects
- Plan and execute LiDAR data acquisition missions using advanced LiDAR equipment, ensuring high-quality data capture
- Process, calibrate, and analyze LiDAR data to extract actionable insights and create accurate digital terrain models (DTMs) and 3D point clouds
- Perform thorough quality control checks on LiDAR data to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Operating company vehicle and ensuring the proper maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of LiDAR equipment to maximize performance and longevity
- Collaborate closely with engineers, surveyors, and GIS specialists to integrate LiDAR data into infrastructure design projects, facilitating informed decision-making
- Daily administrative tasks often include the upload and download of survey data files, debrief to Survey & Design teams, time sheet completion verification with field-crew team members, and daily reports
- Develop and complete associated paperwork (sketches of both ISP and OSP pathways, drawings, including site survey paperwork, address listings, bill of materials, associated pictures and cost estimates)
- GIS Analysts must have a background and/or education in GIS mapping and be able to work in a team environment
- Identify existing utilities
- Identify any issues or obstacles preventing a successful construction of the network
- Identify customers network and review proposed methods of construction
- Other duties are required

**Qualifications**: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- GIS post-grad certification or equivalent education or equivalent work experience
- 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of Postgres or PostGIS considered an asset
- Experience with Geodatabase
- Experience interpreting CATV, FTTH or Telecom construction/contractor blueprints & as-builts an asset
- Knowledge of RF/CATV and fibre systems (fibre-to-the home/FTTH, FTTB, FTTx) an asset
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
- Knowledge and understanding of subsurface utilities
- Ability to operate a LiDAR mapping unit, GPS, laser range finder & measuring wheels
- Experience operating a LiDAR mapping unit and/or RTK GPS equipment an asset
- Proficient use of a wireless tablet & smart phone
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated self-starter with an attention to detail is a must
- Experience with GIS software and tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, 3-GIS an asset
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, lift 50 lbs and walk for long periods of time; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time
- Valid Ontario drivers licence
- Willing to travel as required, overnight travel will be required from time to time
