**What Sets This Role Apart**:
Unlike large-scale municipal work, our projects often involve smaller-diameter pipe systems with tight alignments, precise elevations, and fine tolerances. Attention to detail, patience, and craftsmanship are essential. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in high-quality, clean, and accurate installations—even in the trickiest of conditions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install water and sewer mains and services according to engineered drawings and specifications for commercial sites, requiring more precision and care than large utility installs
- Set and align pipes using lasers, grade rods, and other conventional or digital layout tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and cut sheets accurately
- Safely operate trench boxes, compactors, and small tools associated with pipe laying
- Work closely with the foreman, operators, and laborers to execute daily tasks efficiently
- Identify and protect existing underground utilities (e.g., locates, flags, old ditch lines)
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and support site safety culture
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and hazard assessments
- Perform manual labour as required (shoveling, cutting, tamping, etc.)

**Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of experience in underground water and sewer installation is required
- Strong understanding of pipe elevations, trenching, and bedding requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding outdoor environment
- Demonstrated experience working around heavy equipment and in confined spaces
- Excellent awareness of underground hazards and how to mitigate risks
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites in and around Edmonton
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safe and efficient practices
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for pre access to some sites when required is an asset

**Certifications & Requirements**:

- Valid CSTS-09 or CSTS-2020
- Ground Disturbance Level II
- First Aid certification (preferred)
- Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license (required)
- Must complete Tierra Construction’s Safety Orientation prior to start
- CSA-approved steel-toe boots (minimum 6” ankle support)

Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
