**What We Offer**
Rakes and Ladders provides quality garden maintenance services to over 150 residential and commercial properties in the Vancouver area, keeping gardens and lawns healthy and tidy to provide beauty year-round. Our maintenance crew completes lawn care, pruning, hedge trimming, weeding and many other garden tasks that may arise. We are transitioning to more battery powered equipment resulting in a quieter and greener work environment and we use an herbicide and pesticide free approach to pest management. While the majority of our daily work is maintaining gardens, we also do installation of new gardens, planting and transplanting and removal of plants and hedges. We pride ourselves in the quality of our work, and also creating a fun and enjoyable environment for our team members. On the job learning and training is constant, (most of our team started at entry level positions), employees with the right attitude and work ethic can progress quickly within the company.

As a gardener/landscaper your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Planting - Shrubs, hedges, trees, perennials, annuals, bulbs
- Lawn care - Mowing, line trimming, edging, fertilizing, lawn installation and repair
- Pruning - Prune shrubs, trees, hedges, and other plants as required
- General - Clean patios, footpaths, driveways, and common areas to make sure they are clean, and accessible
- Power tools used - Lawn mowers, Line trimmers, leaf blowers, power shears
- Hand tools used - rakes, pruners, Hori Hori knife, hand saw, loppers, shovels, pry bars, wheelbarrows, and handheld fertilizers

**Who We Are Looking For**
We are willing to train gardening skills, here are the base requirements for our landscape technicians:

- Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable. 7:30am start Mon-Fri at the warehouse located on
Marine Drive
- Physically fit (able to lift 40+ lbs repetitively)
- Comfortable using ladders up to 12 feet
- Positive attitude
- Oral and written communication in English
- Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Professional and safe approach to working in the garden
- Excellent attention to detail

Experience and Certification that we consider an asset (not required):

- Experience in landscape maintenance or construction
- Registered Landscaping Apprentices
- Valid class 5 drivers license
- Plant identification
- Operation of power tools

**Compensation and Perks**:

- Starting wage between $23-28 per hour depending on experience
- $130/year allowance for work boots

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
