Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Coordinator, the Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in providing strategic advice, guidance, and information to all HR departments to address their talent acquisition needs. They are instrumental in representing the City at various employment events and job fairs, effectively promoting job opportunities within the organization. With a deep commitment to championing diversity, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is a vital contributor to creating an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve.

**As the**_ Talent Acquisition Specialist, _**you will**:

- Provide professional advice, consultation and assistance to departments regarding administrative standards, protocols and procedures, diversity and recruitment related activities, and lead various recruitments.
- Research, collect information, report on, and make recommendations on various diversity and recruitment activities. Participate on special projects (e.g. cross-organizational or departmental committee involvement, organizational process improvements), and other diversity and recruitment related activities as assigned.
- Coordinate between the Winnipeg Police Service and HR regarding Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search requests.
- Manage and maintain temporary, seasonal talent pools and laid-off employee inventory.
- Co-coordinate the delivery of career/recruitment fairs, events, employment presentations and HR related training.
- Manage social media contracts/accounts including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc., and updates accordingly with ongoing and current City of Winnipeg recruitment and diversity related activities.
- Consult and liaise with departments on work experience/internships reporting, tracking, and communication.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Post-secondary diploma or certificate with specialization in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience directly related to talent acquisition and diversity.
- Experience conducting the full recruitment cycle.
- Experience presenting to groups of job seekers.
- Knowledge of diversity related processes.
- Knowledge of human resource best practices; preferably applicable to a unionized work environment.
- Knowledge of current Acts, regulations, practices, and legislation affecting human resource activities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and the ability to learn new technology.
- Knowledge of social media including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work; manage multiple projects; and work independently using sound judgment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels both internal and external to the organization.
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues and information in a confidential, tactful, professional, objective manner.
