**Objective**:
To assess, design, deliver and evaluate various learning programs and initiatives, and ensure their effectiveness in supporting Friendship Centre and urban Indigenous learners.

**Key Deliverables**:

- To provide instructions, and collaborate on the design, development, and evaluation of specialized programs and initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Instruction (65%):

- Implements a variety of Indigenous teaching and delivery methods that foster a positive learning environment, accommodate learner needs, prioritize trauma-informed approaches, and promote learner engagement.
- Addresses issues of academic honestly, and dispute resolution following institutional policies and processes.
- Conducts learner assessments, including grading in accordance with established rubrics.
- Utilizes in-person, blended, and online delivery methods, to maintain and increase learner success, including the use of a comprehensive Learning Management System.
- Regularly assess and analyses the performance of learning programs, materials, and technologies, utilizing established metrics and benchmarks grounded in cultural values, and provides critical feedback for improved learning outcomes.
- Cantres learner well-being to create a safe and suitable learning environment, and learner experience.
- Contributes to instructional design of content and materials, which includes the development and design of modules, materials, assessments, curriculum, supportive resources, manuals, and promotional materials.
- Completes debriefs to improve learner experiences and support instructor wellness and writes reports as required to meet funding and other administrative requirements

Collaboration and Support (30%):

- Engages with and learns from Elders and Knowledge keepers supportive of instruction of accredited and nonaccredited courses, trainings, and workshops.
- Supports and encourages researchers and research initiatives in relation to learning initiatives.
- Builds industry connections for the benefit of OPLC and its learners.
- Collaborates with co-instructor (s) on all aspects of instruction to ensure consistency and cohesive teaching and learning.
- Collaborates with key OFIFC personnel to inform instructional design and delivery and identify learner needs.
- Promotes internal integration, professional development and the establishment of partnerships in support of enhanced learning initiatives for urban Indigenous populations and collects resources that support teaching and learning with Indigenous communities

Other (5%):

- Maintains and upgrades professional skills.
- Performs other duties, related to the position, as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, or designate.

**Education/Work Experience**:

- Completed master’s degree in Indigenous Studies, Education, Social Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience with emphasis on Indigenous connections, lived experience, and learning.
- Minimum 2 years of instructional experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in Indigenous knowledge transfer, including Indigenous approaches to teaching and learning preferably within an Indigenous organization.

- Advanced writing abilities for curriculum development, and reports.
- Proficiency using learning technologies. i.e., Learning Management System (LMS)
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous issues, communities, values, traditions, and cultural norms.
- Proven ability to incorporate Indigenous pedagogies, worldviews, and trauma-informed approaches into curriculum design, development, and delivery.
