**Position Summary**:
The Client & Retail Service Representative (CRSR) is responsible for all customer service duties.

They are often the first point of contact for clients visiting the Winnipeg Humane Society, and are

responsible for greeting visitors, providing reception/customer services, answering telephones,

adoption inquiries, ensuring smooth delivery of service for the client, and promoting WHS

products, programs, and services. The CRSR provides back up telephone reception, and other

duties as assigned. The CRSR has regular contact with all visitors, staff, management, and

volunteers, and should be professional and respectful to everyone they encounter. The CRSR also

promotes and sells retail items in the WHS Pet Shop at The Winnipeg Humane Society, providing

cashier services to WHS customers, including stocking, pricing, and ordering of retail merchandise

for the WHS Pet Store.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Adoptions Department Responsibilities
- Promptly and courteously greet clients and determine their service requirements.

and match available services to interested clients in a manner that is respectful and
informative.
- Photocopy adoption information materials; gather branded partner materials; prepare and

fill adoption folders for future use.
- Keep all shared spaces organized and clean, especially the front desk.
- Report to Adoptions Supervisors and follow their instructions.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned, including assistance with supporting Adoption

Counsellors at times of need.

Pet Store Responsibilities
- Handle cash and cash balancing
- Process retail sales and other transactions on computerized cash register
- Receive, inventory, code, and price retail products
- Open or close Pet Shop as part of daily routine
- Unload deliveries, stock shelves, prepare retail inventory for display and participate in

general upkeep of the Pet Shop
- Set up and take down retail displays for special events as required, including

transportation of fixtures and merchandise in WHS “Pets on the Go” vehicle
- Work with other staff and volunteers as required
- Greet clients promptly, courteously and determine their requirements
- Promote and sell WHS Pet Shop products and merchandise to adoption clients and

other retail clients
- Communicate with Retail Operations Supervisor to ensure merchandise is available at

the Pet Shop

- Monitor and report on any irregular cycle counts in inventory to Supervisor
- Report any service provider schedule irregularities to Supervisor in the new dog

grooming pilot scheduled to launch in October 2024.
