**Role Overview**
Write on Time Consulting is a consulting firm that works with private companies, charities, non-profit organizations, and First Nation communities to secure funding to create, maintain, or enhance existing programs and services. Our mom-and-pop shop has helped numerous organizations secure funding totalling over $15 million since 2017, leading to significant impacts for a range of underserved communities.
The Grant Writer/Researcher will work within Write on Time’s client-centred framework to assist our clients with procuring funding using grants, proposals, and other related mechanisms.
This role will primarily include consultations with clients to identify funding needs, followed by drafting, editing, and/or submitting research-based funding proposals.
**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with clients to identify funding needs, including annual targets and areas of expected growth (e.g., program expansion)
- Searching for funding opportunities (e.g., through government grants, foundations) based on identified client needs
- Drafting and editing proposals (including budgets and other appendices) using an iterative process with clients; strong focus on measurable objectives, logical program plans, and using research to support proposal arguments
- Ensuring all research utilized in writing is correctly cited (either APA or MLA style formatting)
- Maintaining client confidentiality and ensuring timely and responsive services
- Submitting proposals as needed on behalf of clients
- Maintaining records of all submissions in tracking sheets
- Making suggestions when necessary to improve the quality and efficiency of the grant writing process
- Collaborating with and supporting clients by efficiently managing client expectations and multiple ongoing client projects
- Ensuring there is ongoing and effective communication with both the Write on Time team and clients
- Coordinating and following up on the progress of submitted proposals
- Identifying potential risks and benefits for projects and liaising with the team when needed to resolve problems
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- [Preferred] Minimum of two years of related experience working in proposal writing, research, or fund development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand complex information and translate research into clear and compelling grant proposals
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative; ability to maintain high productivity amidst multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel) and Google Suite Applications or related tools
**Salary Expectations**
- Competitive wages to be determined, commensurate on experience
**Job Type**: Part-time
