**PAYROLL PRACTITIONER**

Trimark People Solutions provides managed HR services to clients across Canada and the Western USA. We are seeking an experienced **Payroll Practitioner** to support our clients' needs and be their primary point of contact for their payroll needs. This role is working on-site at our clients' offices with the potential to work some days from a home-based office located in BC or Alberta.

To meet our client needs, the **Payroll Practitioner** will possess excellent communication skills to interact collaboratively and establish effective relationships with leaders, payroll clerks, HR, other employees, vendors, external stakeholders, and the TRIMARK team. You have the ability to support multiple companies, proven experience processing payroll for provincially and federally regulated companies and multiple legal entities, as well as knowledge of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll. Your strong attention to detail and time management skills allows you to work effectively against tight deadlines with high volumes of work. Experience supporting the implementation of an HRIS and working closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration while modernizing payroll processes and payroll platforms an asset.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure payroll [bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for employee headcounts up to 300] is processed in accordance with the respective provincial and federal employment legislation.
- Conduct payroll calculations including salary changes, tax payments, allowances, benefit calculations, and averaging agreements.
- Process and initiate EFT funding requests.
- Lead and process accurate and timely benefits administration.
- Create and maintain digital and electronic payroll and employee files.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year end report balancing, reconciliations, and remittances [WCB, Health Tax, Quarterly SUI tax filings, expat reconciliations, etc.]
- Perform and support year-end processes including audits, T-4 slip preparation and filing, and reconciliations.
- Complete records of employment (ROE) and create associated reports.
- Maintain current knowledge of provincial and federal legislative changes and payroll practices.
- Update systems and processes to implement legislative changes related to payroll.
- Collaborate with payroll vendors, benefit providers, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Support the configuration and implementation of payroll systems.
- Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures for payroll processes and benefits administration.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- 3-5 years of full-cycle Payroll Processing experience (Canada).
- Post-secondary diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong sense of logic and an aptitude for mathematics.
- Solid understanding of payroll processing, tax principles, and employment standards legislation for provincially and federally legislated companies.
- Payroll processing for multiple Canadian provinces an asset.
- National Payroll Institute PCP designation a plus, highly recommended.
- Experience with payroll platforms (Sage 50, Sage 300, Ceridian, ADP or BambooHR).
- Experience with large third-party payroll providers (ADP, Ceridian, UKG).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to focus within a busy environment.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines.
- Able and willing to participate in Teams or other conference platforms on camera.
- Proficient using Office 365, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.

**WAGE**: $55,000 - $60,000 per year

**LOCATION**:BC - Metro Vancouver, AB - Calgary or Edmonton; hybrid work option dependent upon client needs.
