**River of Life Alliance: Youth and Young Adult Pastor**

**Purpose**: We are excited to be looking for someone to provide spiritual leadership and oversight to both our youth (grades 7-12) and our young adult ministries. This pastor would be responsible for the discipleship of all our young people. They would be working alongside the pastoral team to fulfill River of Life’s vision of being a multigenerational and multiethnic community experiencing renewal.

**About River of Life Alliance Church**: Our congregation was birthed in 1990 out of a small group of Filipino Christians who were part of First Alliance Church in Calgary. The community had a burning desire to reach out to the diaspora of Filipinos in Alberta. As the ministry continued to grow in numbers, we were able to launch out as Calgary Filipino Alliance Church in 1996. The Lord continued to grow the congregation and develop a new passion for all nations. Since the previous name did not reflect the new heart for the nations, the church was re-named to River of Life Alliance Church in 2001. Our youth and young adults are often bicultural and are reaching out to others from diverse backgrounds.

**Reports to**: Senior Pastor and through him to the Board of Elders.

**Position Type**: Full time (40 hours per week and salary pay).

**Position Duties**:

- Attend church and staff meeting times as scheduled.
- Be a team player on the RLAC staff.
- Maintain high communication with the Senior Pastor and staff.
- Give pastoral leadership and vision to the Youth and Young Adult ministries.
- Recruit and structure ministry leadership for the Youth and Young Adult ministries.
- Prepare and manage the annual Youth and Young Adult budgets. Supervise the proper receipting and reporting of all expenditures and income.
- Communicate regularly with the congregation and parents.
- Oversee a discipleship pathway for our Young Adults and Youth.
- Equip and empower your leadership volunteers for the work of the ministry.
- Oversee biblical teaching at the Youth and Young Adult meetings.
- Create and execute missional strategies aligned with RLAC’s vision of a multiethnic community.
- Lead our young people towards spiritual renewal and Christlikeness.
- Follow proper safety practices for working with minors including police checks, waivers, and appropriate training for leaders.
- Coordinate with RLAC on short-term mission's trips for young people.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

**Qualifications**:

- To love Jesus, His church, and the lost.
- To have a growing relationship with Christ and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- To be an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.
- A graduate of a bachelor degree from a bible college/university.
- Youth or Young adult ministry leadership experience in a local church context.
- Possess strong leadership skills.
- Cross-cultural ministry experience (preferably with asian cultures).
- Experience working with “1st generation” immigrant and second generation Youth and Young adults.
- Experience and comfortable with preaching and teaching.
- Experience with evangelism and missions.
- A criminal background check that is up to date.
- Holds to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Canada’s Statement of Faith and willing to work towards accreditation.

**Bonus Qualifications**:

- Be licensed with the Alliance Canada.
- A graduate of a master’s degree from a seminary program.

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
