**Role**

Safety Advisors are expected to focus on building relationships with all craft, staff, and clients in order to ensure that there is a positive morale for full buy in of all policies and procedures that are in place. As a Health, Safety, and Environmental Professional, you will play a key role in the execution and implementation of our HSE programs for all projects. All while assisting with continuous improvement of the corporate HSE management system.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with operations management to ensure effective implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assist in the development and distribution of HSE alerts and lessons learned bulletins.
- Participate in the conduct of detailed, fact-based incident management.
- Acquire clear competence and understanding in executing HSE program in all types of situations (project start up, duration and close out)
- Oversee and provide safety coverage for field personnel and assists them in answering safety questions.
- Act as a resource to supervisors on OH&S requirements, how the laws are distinguished and need to be followed.
- Coach operations management with performing daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings.
- Organize and attend client and corporate health and safety meetings to review safety initiatives, concerns, or issues so they can be communicated or acted upon as required.
- Develop and review safety manuals, safe work practices and job procedures.
- Collect and analyze statistical data, produce leading and lagging indicator trends.
- Independently lead Tool-Box-Talks and Safety meetings.
- Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials.
- Understand all site, business unit or division safety programs, company codes of business conduct, site specific procedures and management systems.
- Support the subcontractor prequalification and selection process.
- Assist with the hire-on process of all workers to ensure all required certificates are obtained and orientations are completed.
- Deliver internal safety training courses as needed, or source external training to satisfy training needs.
- Maintain accounts with ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, and Avetta.
- Coordinate active WCB claims and monitor the modified work program.
- Support the annual COR auditing process, and client audits as required.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a safety advisory role and field experience.
- NCSO certification is an asset.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or Diploma.
- Experience working in a professional environment (ex. corporate office)
- Prior construction industry experience is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of a Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
- Knowledge of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations is required.
- Experience is incident investigation and claim management is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain the following safety tickets: CSTS, Ground Disturbance Level 2, Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, Train the Trainer, and Auditor Certification Courses.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
