Production Specialist

This position is responsible for supervising and assisting installation and repair crews in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of surface production equipment; writing permits; job scoping and planning and supervising permit jobs.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the MCBU Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Coordinator to help scope and plan work
- Rigorous participation in the JSA, BBS, PTW (Permit to Work) and SWA (Stop Work Authority).
- Provide oversight during tasks deemed critical to ensure incident-free operations
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.
- Supervise permit work such as isolation of hazardous energy, confined space entry, trenching and shoring, lifting and rigging, SIMOPS, etc.
- Work closely with Field Specialist and helps troubleshoot problems with surface equipment.
- Assure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drives on a routine basis and is available to travel outside of home-based area as business needs dictate.
- Will be on-call in a rotating fashion, responding to priority, break-in work as business needs dictate
- Develop and approve EIP’s associated with IHE for related work.
- Cover nights and weekends as a supervisor on call.
- Reviews invoices associated with the facility prior to approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- At least two years of operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.
- Demonstrated Chevron Way Values.
- Must live within 50 miles of the work location or be willing and able to relocate and possess a valid driver’s license. Company vehicle may be available for commute.
- Valid driver's license with a history of safe driving practices.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime based on work activity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate of Applied Science degree in Petroleum Technology, Process Technology, or related technology.
- Four plus years of operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.
- In-depth understanding of upstream facilities including, but not limited to separation, pumping, gathering, tankage, last sales, metering, and compression.
- Broad knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and maintain major oil and gas production facility process systems including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and production equipment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), CMMS, and the ability to understand new software packages.
- Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage time effectively, and work with mínimal supervision.
