**Job Description**:

- Summary

Specifically, the Clinical Specialist (CS) will deliver clinical education and training to practicing HCPs, including KOLs, and professional societies. The CS is responsible for coordinating and ensuring implementation of corporate scientific and clinical strategies to KOLs within academic, clinical, and healthcare organizations.
- Principal Responsibilities
- Perform all role responsibilities of the Clinical Specialist including, but not limited to:

- Leads onsite field training and/or remote support for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals drugs and devices; may manage a region from an educational and training perspective
- Gathers and reports field insights (physician practice trends, patient care issues, device-related issues, and competitor medical information) to internal stakeholders
- Accurately respond to complex medical questions from institutional-based health care providers in accordance with approved company guidance for CSs and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards and using approved content
- Interact with a variety of internal stakeholders including but not limited to Clinical Specialists, Technical Service Engineers, MSLs, Quality, Regulatory, Research & Development, and Legal personnel
- May contribute to device
- and drug-related Pharmacovigilance activities including complaint capture
- May assist in development of tools and resources to develop and maintain a cutting-edge training and education program
- May support clinical research and/or clinical trial site initiations by providing technical support throughout the study period, advising Sponsored Study or Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) investigators on instrument use, acting as a liaison between potential investigators and Medical Affairs, and supporting data and information collection on new devices prior to introduction to customers
- The Clinical Specialist must remain current on therapeutic advances and competing therapies or products.
- Identify and develop relationships with current or upcoming key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other prominent health care providers as they relate to both Mallinckrodt’s marketed and pipeline products
- Serve as key clinical/scientific resource to institutional accounts and their respective healthcare stakeholders
- Accurately respond to complex medical questions from institutional-based health care providers in accordance with approved company guidance for CSs and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards and using approved content
- Identify, collect, and communicate insights related to competitor medical information and physician practice trends
- Participate in training, mentoring, and coaching junior team members
- May act as a SME or lead for various internal projects
- May provide Congress support or leadership
- Serve as a team role model in terms of functional expertise

Department specific/non-essential responsibilities:

- Document interactions and activities in appropriate databases, retaining and submitting required expenses and meting defined qualitative and quantitative objectives
- Committed to full compliance with all company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws including PhRMA guidelines for field-based personnel
- Minimum Requirements

Experience / Skills Therakos:

- RN or BS required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in apheresis, dialysis, pediatrics, or ICU, and/or device use in clinical practice required
- Pharmaceutical/medical device industry experience preferred
- 5 years of education and training experience and/or management experience preferred

Competencies:

- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., R/D, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, Device Safety, Regulatory)
- Creative problem-solver with strong business skills/acumen
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently with limited direct management oversight
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and team written and verbal communication skills
- Possess an understanding of both the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
- Expert level presentation development and training skills
- Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This position reports to the Manager or Director, Clinical Specialists. The CS may interact with internal colleagues in marketing, sales, research and development, device safety, quality, regulatory, and medical affairs team members. External collaboration includes trade associations, professional societies, and HCPs. Collaboration across a matrix organization is required.
- Working Conditions:
