The Real Property and Environment Branch (RPEB) is a dynamic and forward-looking corporate services organization that aims to ensure that NRCan has optimal real property assets that enable the delivery of world class science programs while balancing sustainability and affordability. To respond to the Horizontal Fixed Asset Review, RPEB has embarked on an ambitious change agenda that involves leading NRCan through significant real property transformation as well as modernizing business practices, processes and systems. The organization is well connected to the Real Property Institute of Canada and works collaboratively with other government departments to share best practices, work collaboratively and problem solve together. NRCan has embraced the Hybrid work model in leading many innovative transformations in its workforce management, workplace, and technology.

This will be for a (1 year) term or indeterminate GL-MAN-07 position at Pacific Forestry Centre in Victoria, BC; 5 days a week, on-site required

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary school OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
Experience carrying out grounds maintenance services including lawn mowing and tree care, snow removal and sanding operations
Experience carrying out operation and maintenance of physical plant equipment and buildings
Experience repairing and installing mechanical equipment and components
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of safe materials handling techniques and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively in writing

**Conditions of employment**:
Reliability Status security clearance
Willingness to work overtime including weekends occasionally.
Willing and able to work in hot and cold conditions
Willing and able to lift 11.3 Kg (25 lbs) while practicing proper safety measures.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
This is mandatory in-person position, 5 days a week Monday to Friday.
