Our Production team is looking for a dependable Plant Maintenance Technician teammate to oversee the efficient operation of machinery and equipment in a production environment. The maintenance person works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all facilities and equipment are well maintained.

**Schedule Requirements**: Monday - Friday / weekends on call as needed

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform routine preventative equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and service to ensure reliability and equipment uptime on process and facility equipment. Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
- Observes operating of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair/replacement of mechanical components and necessary adjustments.
- Monitor performance of machinery and equipment; adjust and calibrate as needed, ensuring that equipment meets specifications and requirements.
- Assists personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
- Maintain, repair, and install plant equipment to OEM standards.
- Comply with all HACCP/GFSI compliance requirements regarding environmental, and food safety.
- Ensure all maintenance and service work orders are completed on time and reports forwarded to document and data control.
- Diagnosis and replacement of equipment parts with little or no direction.
- Work safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times to ensure safety.
- Keep the Operations Manager informed of department activities on an on-going basis.
- Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Industrial Maintenance Mechanic experience
- Experience with hand tools and various shop equipment (welders, drills, metal cutting, etc.).
- Common knowledge of general maintenance work including plumbing, electricity, and production equipment.
- Millwright certification not required, but considered and asset.
- Advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, and PLC Programming.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a food production/processing environment
- A commitment to safety protocols and knowledge of industry-specific safety regulations is paramount to protect both personnel and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical skills.
- Must be able to work in a wet, refrigerated environment with moderate to high noise volume.
- Physically capable of carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Entry level knowledge of HACCP and GFSI standards and asset
