**Required Skills**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for the accounting and administration of the global commission plan, the accounting for the ex-pat compensation program, the oversight of the monthly payroll accounting process, including fringe benefits, and technical accounting related to non-standard compensatory arrangements.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead the company’s Global Commission Plan accounting and administration, including:

- The assessment of new theatre revenue agreements to determine commission eligibility and valuation
- The monthly review of new commission recognitions with the President of IMAX Theatres
- Accounting for the company’s commission obligations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Oversee monthly commission payments to the Company’s global salesforce
- Prepare and distribute accurate and timely quarterly commission statements to the company’s global salesforce
- Lead the accounting for IMAX’s North American and International Payroll and Ex-Pat Compensation Arrangements, including journal entry review, fringe benefits analysis and quarterly account reconciliations
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external service provider for the company’s Ex-Pat Compensation Arrangements, including facilitating quarterly status updates
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the Senior Financial Analyst, Payroll, and perform reviews of monthly accounting processes in accordance with SOX requirements
- Promote a culture of continuous process improvement, build procedures, diagnose shortcomings and identify opportunities to automate processes within the company’s Payroll and Commission programs
- Work collaboratively with key business partners, including Corporate Theatre Development, the Human Resources Payroll team, IMAX salespeople and other Finance teams as required
- Act as a point of contact for the external auditors for Payroll, Commissions and Ex-Pat accounting issues; facilitate timely and accurate responses to internal and external audit requests

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
- Professional Accountant (CPA, CA)
- Minimum three years’ experience in a manager role with direct reports in a large/global organization or large Audit firm; industry experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ease of interactions with senior leadership team members
- Strong commercial, business, and finance acumen; ability to understand complex contract terms
- Analytically minded and experienced in process efficiency and controls remediation
- Experienced in leading and developing teams
- Experience working in a US GAAP and SOX environment
- Highly efficient, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to stay focused on tasks while meeting tight deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP experience is an asset
