**About You / What We Are Looking For**
The City of Coquitlam has an exciting opportunity stemming from a maternity leave for a Health and Safety Advisor to temporarily join our Human Resources Team (for approximately 16 months). You will be the newest teammate to one other Health and Safety Advisor, and a Disability Management Advisor both of which report to the Health and Safety Manager. In this role, you will be accountable for supporting and contributing to the on-going development, implementation, coordination and administration of the City’s Occupational Health and Safety Program by helping proactively lead and educate employees on workplace safety measures.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety (preferably from a technical institute) is required, along with a minimum of 3 years work experience in the field of health and safety.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation will be considered an asset.
Experience with or knowledge of the Worksafe claims management process would be considered an asset.
**What We Offer**:
This temporary excluded position has an annual salary range of $109,539 - $123,217 and an extensive benefit package including a flex day schedule. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills. Applicants under consideration may be required to undergo a police information check.
