Nature of work
- The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in assisting the teaching personnel in the preparation, presentation, supervision and evaluation of laboratory work, fieldwork and workshops.
- Secondary functions may include work for the Audio-Visual Services of the College.**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Professional Theatre Program teachers in the mounting of productions;
- Prepare prompt scripts;
- Organize and prepare rehearsal schedules;
- Attend pre-rehearsal meetings, production and other meetings with director and team, as needed;
- Assist teachers with the running of rehearsals;
- Organize and supervise crew calls, as needed;
- Gather and prepare props and costumes;
- Prepare and finalize paperwork related to the productions;
- Prepare for technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances;
- Call technical cues (“call the show”) during the production;
- Dismantle and discard the show (“strike the show”) following the end of the production;
- Supervise students;
- Perform other related duties.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications
- To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
- Conditions- Established expertise in professional lighting (lighting programming via Strand-like command-line), scenic carpentry and sound (experience with sound/vide o programming via Qlab), and video design;
- Ability to work with faculty, support staff and work with/supervise students in an educational setting;
- Basic Word and Intermediate Excel skills (testing may be required);
- Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written);
- Intermediate French communication skills (spoken);
- Excellent organization and time management skills (multi-tasking and deadlines, etc.);
- Good attention to detail;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be an asset;
- Prior stage management experience would be an asset;
- A driver’s license would be an asset.
