If you want to make a difference and love being surrounded by the best and the brightest, Bureau Veritas Laboratories might be the place for you Imagine being surrounded by the brightest minds in the industry. **Benefits** On-the-job training Competitive salary Competitive benefits RRSP with employer contribution Employee discounts Free parking EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Career growth opportunity Work/life balance (floater day and WE ARE day) Bureau Veritas Montreal is looking for a **Laboratory Technician** to join our petroleum laboratory in Montreal. **Summary**: Oil and Petroleum Laboratory Technicians perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties. **Key Accountability/Responsibilities**: - Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications; - Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used; prepares graphs and charts; - Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment; calibrates laboratory instruments; - Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas; - Adds chemicals or raw materials to process solutions or products batches to correct or establish formulation required to meet specifications; - Review laboratory analysis, generates Certificate of Analysis, and is authorized to release and approve data when task is assigned by Lab Manager; - Prioritizes daily workload to accommodate daily rushes and specialty analysis & TAT; - Follows Standard Operating Procedures (with emphasis on quality control); - Knowledge of and adherence to QA regulations and ensures a high level of accuracy in sample prep and analysis; - Distinguish and communicate SOP non conformances to management; - Develops SOP’s and general work instructions; - Supports and complies with BV policies, Quality System and Partners in Safety program; - Understands analysis procedures and problem solves minor issues; - Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge of all procedures within scope; - Ensues maintenance and assessment of instruments; - Validates data output; - Participates in lab and safety meetings, as required; - Maintains knowledge of relevant provincial legislation; - Promotes a positive work environment for employees; - Acts as a positive change agent in supporting BV’s new initiatives (operational and cultural);All other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor / Manager - BSc.
