Bureau Veritas is looking for a **Laboratory Technician - Microbiology** to join our food laboratory in Ville Saint-Laurent.

**Your main responsibilities are**:

- Provide general lab support;
- Perform basic testing procedures for food samples;
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in sample preparation;
- Assist with media preparation and decontamination;
- Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials;
- If needed, help at sample reception;
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) when conducting any laboratory work or procedure;
- Prioritize daily workload based on sample and client requirement;
- Identify any non-routine samples and seeks guidance on procedures for handling;
- Identify and communicate non-conformances to Supervisor;
- Maintain training records and relevant qualifications;
- Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements;
- Keep work area clean, neat and organized;
- All other responsibilities as assigned.
- Have a minimum: College diploma in Science;
- Have experience in a laboratory is an asset;
- Have a positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Have good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills;
- Work well both independently and as part of a team;
- Are detail orientated and have record keeping skills;
- Learn quickly and are able to perform repetitive tasks;
- Adapt well to a changing environment;
- Have excellent computer skills.

**Working conditions**:

- Work place : 7150 rue Frederick Banting, Ville Saint-Laurent, Montreal **(PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LOCATION IS NOT ACCESSIBLE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CURRENT WORK SCHEDULE NEED BELOW)**:

- Work schedule : 2PM-10PM (depending on needs, possibility of overtime on weekdays and/or week-ends)
- Status: Full time, 37.5h/week
