**Job Overview**
The Supervisor Distribution Operations role will include oversight and management of assigned general foreperson(s) to support day to day activities that take place across their assigned territories. This includes oversight with crew planning, equipment scheduling and rentals, training, tooling, apprenticeship management, ELD management, safety audits and inspections, etc.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Leadership**_
- Provide high level mentorship to all resources in the assigned area (s).
- Work to resolve interpersonal conflicts as required.
- Making good decisions and resolving complex, sensitive or contentious problems.
- Assist in strategically setting, assigning, and monitoring operational targets, goals, and objectives for the division.
- Utilize innovative problem-solving strategies.
- Escalate problems or issues of a strategic or operational nature and evaluate the risks or opportunities associated with potential solutions to ensure the most appropriate course of action is taken.
- Communicate regularly with direct reports to ensure that work is completed in accordance with set priorities, strategic goals and objectives and all applicable client requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning activities and tactical implementation throughout the organization.
- Provide accurate technical advice throughout entire project delivery and review phases of projects.
- Provide detailed preconstruction reviews of projects, provide detailed input into estimating, and engineering.
- Periodically switch crew compositions to ensure all employees have exposure to different work methods.
- **Operational Coordination & Planning**_
- Identify required resources needed for operational activities at the “mid term” range and assign accordingly.
- Direct management of operational crew roster in conjunction with all general foreman and other divisions (_Temp, Substations, Power Services, Etc_.)
- Ensure vacations, training, and resourcing gaps are documented and backfilled weekly
- Proactively procure the appropriate tools and equipment required for future projects being scheduled.
- Ensure the appropriate employees with the required technical knowledge are assigned to specific job or projects.
- Ensure tool inventories are submitted and completed at regular intervals. Suggest investment plans based on tool audit findings and track overall health of tool inventories. Monitor tool requests in alignment with divisional needs.
- Participate in hiring of new staff as required for the operational area assigned. (Interviews, onboarding, rotations, etc.)
- Provide regular input to K-Line’s master schedule for work planning and updates.
- Support project management teams with technical input where required including attending estimate review meetings, schedule development, work plans, etc.
- Responsible for supporting engineering teams with technical input. (Support EPC project planning from operations perspective)
- Assist in technical reviews and/or development of detailed bill of materials prior to procuring materials.
- Manage equipment utilization report for all distribution equipment. (strive to achieve organizational targets for usage)
- Management of equipment maintenance scheduling to limit downtime and equipment shortages.
- Management of driver’s logs exception reporting for ministry compliance across all areas
- Time sheet review / audits and payroll approvals for all staff to ensure accuracy. Resolve and discrepancies as they arise.
- Expected to participate in storm response efforts as a storm lead leading efforts from the office.
- Conduct regular safety and compliance audits and deliver department improvement messages at safety meetings.
- Support program delivery team with operational input on contract negotiations, change orders, and schedule changes
