**Manual Machinist Apprentice**

Located in Calgary, AB, Allied Centrifuge Technologies is an organization specializing in the design, manufacturing, servicing and repair of centrifuges. We are currently looking for full-time Manual machinist apprentice who is capable of working in a fast-paced growing environment, that has an eye for detail, able to produce quality work, safely and consistently.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in setting up and operating a diverse range of machine tools to manufacture precision parts and instruments.
- Fabricate and modify parts for the maintenance and repair of machine tools or industrial machinery, leveraging knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
- Analyze sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering data to determine optimal methods or sequences of operations required for product fabrication.
- Utilize precision instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers to calculate dimensions or tolerances accurately.
- Machine parts to exact specifications using equipment such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Conduct thorough examinations and testing of completed units to detect defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Provide general assistance throughout the shop to support operational efficiency.

**Qualities**:

- Mechanical aptitude is highly valued.
- Proficiency in basic math principles.
- Ability to proficiently assemble and disassemble machinery and equipment.
- Familiarity with various hand tools used in machining operations.
- Capability to fabricate parts using diverse materials and techniques.
- Knowledge of power tools commonly utilized in machining operations.
- Good work ethic

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: From $22.50 per hour
