**Position Overview**:
Under the direction of the Director, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, the Technical Quality Specialist effectively implements aspects of the Nature’s Way of Canada’s (NWC) Natural Health Product GMP program with main responsibilities in ownership and execution of the following Technical Quality programs:

- Qualification of raw and packaging materials
- Specifications for new or existing raw and packaging materials
- Finished Product Specification for new and existing products
- Vendor specifications for contract-manufactured products
- Finished product label review & approval
- Stability program for new and existing products
- PLM data management of all Canadian and private label product specifications
- Site Licence renewal and amendments

This position requires the ability to analyze and implement regulatory requirements, stay current with regulatory changes, communicate effectively, liaise with stakeholders, work independently as well as collaboratively, and organize documentation/ records.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.**
- Evaluate and qualify new or alternate raw materials and packaging components (and their suppliers) for use in new or existing finished products.
- Prepare and maintain internal Raw Material Specifications (RMS) outlining the testing as per requirements listed in the Quality of Natural Health Products guide and the applicable Health Canada/pharmacopeial monographs.
- Prepare and maintain Health Canada Finished Product Specifications, as well as internal Finished Product Specifications (FPS) outlining the testing as per requirements listed in the Quality of Natural Health Products guide and the applicable Health Canada/pharmacopeial monographs.
- Assess out-of-specification test results involving raw materials and finished products in a timely manner and communicate the results of the investigation to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to Technical Quality.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes to ingredients, suppliers, and analytical test methods and update internal Finished Product Specifications for existing products accordingly.
- Create and maintain formulas and specifications for raw materials and their subcomponents, bulk products, packaging components, and finished products for all products distributed in Canada in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database.
- Review and complete tasks assigned in PLM database for products distributed in Canada.
- Prepare and maintain Stability Programs for all NWC products, including contract-manufactured products, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve new or updated product labels for quality compliance.
- Provide requested information to private label customers, certification bodies, auditing bodies, or regulatory agencies as needed.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as related to Technical Quality.
- Participate in external audits as needed (FOS, Non-GMO etc.).
- May include other duties as assigned from time to time.

**Required Qualifications**:

- A minimum of a technical diploma or Bachelor of Science degree majoring in chemistry, food science, biology, biochemistry, or related discipline is required.
- Experience working in a Regulatory or Quality role within a regulated industry, preferably natural health products or pharmaceutical.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, such as specifications, and formulas.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is required.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral skills, including technical writing, with ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within teams.
