Human Resources Supervisor

***: The Human Resources Supervisor at Grand River Foods Cambridge is responsible for all staff and personnel matters at this facility including, but not limited to recruitment and selection, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, and other administrative tasks. He/she also provides counsel and support on Human Resource matters such as performance management, discipline/discharge, harassment, employee/labour relations, contract administration and policies and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruitment of new employees, following corporate procedure and assist in the delivery of orientation training
- Facilitate training and development programs for the organization
- Development and maintenance of employee job descriptions and standards
- Interact with external organizations impacting employee welfare i.e. WSIB, etc.
- Assists with the carrying out of a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management
- Assists with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of applicable employment law and Human Rights for Ontario
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to analyze data and situations and provide recommendations
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of people management, coaching and leadership skills
- High level of attention to detail, well developed influencing, negotiating and consulting skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong presentation skills, strong analytical skills, ability to perform tasks with mínimal supervision, ability to work with all levels of management and an ability to analyze and decipher related data
- Be able to motivate staff through positive employee relations

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Post secondary education in Human Resources Management
- Minimum 5 years broad knowledge and experience across several HR disciplines
- Previous experience in a manufacturing facility an asset
- Must be able to deal effectively with people from all departments and levels of the organization
