aKin is a new, modern and innovative fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Toronto. Set to open to the public November 2024. Owned and operated by Eric Chong, the first winner of MasterChef Canada, and his mentor, the Michelin-starred Chef Alvin Leung, aKin offers a unique culinary experience through a 10-course blind tasting menu. Our menu reimagines traditional Asian flavors with contemporary twists, creating dishes that are both bold and sophisticated.

**The Day to Day**:

- Execute tasks as directed by the Sous Chef, Chef, and/or General Manager
- Prepare food daily for the tasting menu in accordance with aKin’s high standards
- Follow detailed recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the restaurant
- Maintain an organized prep list of station duties
- Use the FIFO method to ensure maximum freshness
- Assist in food inventory management and control
- Receive and store delivered items properly
- Maintain cleanliness in food prep areas, equipment, and utensils, adhering strictly to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
- Adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as required or assigned

**Qualifications**
- 1-2 years of cooking experience in a high-paced, fine dining environment
- A culinary diploma/degree is an asset
- Basic understanding of professional cooking techniques and knife handling skills
- Ability to take direction and work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Food Handlers Certificate
