- As a Human Resources Consultant, you will lead and support the advancement of equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and contribute to our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and Anti-Racism at The City of Calgary. You will work in collaboration to lead and support initiatives/programs in alignment with our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Framework and Strategy, and other priorities as directed by the Executive Leadership Team and The City Council. Primary duties include:

- Participate in the development and implementation of annual EDIB strategic plans in partnership with departments and business units across the organization.
- Work at both the strategic and operational levels to promote and advance equity, diversity, a culture of inclusion and belonging, and support the truth and reconciliation calls to action including:

- Embedding these elements into culture, systems, practices, and policies.
- Supporting ongoing consultation, learning, education and training.
- Work in partnership within Human Resources (HR) and other work areas to identify and eliminate inequity by developing and implementing HR-related systems, structures, policies, and practices to support equity and inclusion and remove barriers for employees from underrepresented groups. This includes promoting behaviours which will increase equity.
- Research and leverage benchmarking and leading practices to create and promote EDIB resources and services.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships with contributors to impact and influence the EDIB mandate.
- Engage in projects to support EDIB work, such as communicating Human Rights days, leading corporate-wide events such as Experience Inclusion, and data gathering and analysis.

**Qualifications**
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Applicants must have experience in the following areas:

- Working knowledge of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging practices, principles, and initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in operationalizing EDIB principles and practices.
- Experience in safely facilitating difficult conversations, consultation, and developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational and operational change.
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and provincial policy, legislation, and political awareness.
- Experience managing complex, multi-phased projects.
- Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

- Lived experience or understanding of diverse and underrepresented communities.
- Experience in a large-scale unionized environment.
- A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
- Success in this position requires:

- Inclusive attitudes and behaviours and the ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds and skills and adapt to various styles of service delivery.
- Proven personal leadership in EDIB by actively demonstrating the values and behaviours supportive of EDIB.
- The ability to think strategically and operationalize ideas into plans and actions.
- The ability to effectively advocate for change, influence others, and collaborate across the organization to address complex and varied organizational challenges.
- A demonstrated ability to build relationships and work in a collaborative, inclusive, integrated team environment.
- Demonstrated political acumen and the capability to handle items of a confidential/sensitive nature.
- Demonstrated resilience with the ability to handle a high workload and complex issues while meeting deadlines.

- Position Type: 2 Permanent & 3 Temporary (up to 24 months)
Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
- Compensation: Level E $80,640 - 121,760 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
-work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
