**Position Summary**
The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for presenting a great first impression for patients at our clinic and providing administrative support to our clinicians. This role has the primary responsibility of providing excellent customer service to our clients, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and interacting with patients over the phone and in person.
- Collecting personal information from patients and entering it in the EMR system.
- Scheduling medical appointments for patients.
- Validating patients’ payment methods.
- Updating patients’ health records.
- Using medical software to support all administrative tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety procedures.
- Keeping up to date with the medical and insurance legislature.
**Position Requirements**
- Knowledge of EMR systems especially JaneApp.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience in the healthcare environment.
- College Certificate/Diploma or University degree (MOA certificate is an asset, but not necessary).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and also in a small collaborative team environment.
- Ability to address patient concerns and challenges with compassion and resilience.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week
**Salary**: $15.65-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- VANCOUVER, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
