In the context of our small team, you will lead in your role and take ownership in managing a pipeline of investments and lead client account management.

THE TEAM YOU’LL BE A PART OF

In this key role, you will be an important member of the Business Development team. This team is responsible for investment attraction and expansion in Waterloo Region, building strong stakeholder relationships, both locally and abroad, with public and private sector intermediaries and partners and managing an investment pipeline of opportunities.

Our vision is to be a best-in-class B2B complex sales organization that is flexible, nimble and has a bias for action. As a relatively new organization (just 8 years old), we have attracted almost $2 billion in investment to Waterloo Region and have built a strong sales pipeline of investment opportunities.

We are results-focused and are increasing our inbound marketing and internal lead generation capacity and capability to further grow our sales pipeline. This role will be the client account manager for a portfolio of potential customers with a focus on French companies and will have the opportunity to continue to develop their skillset in prospecting, business development and client account management.

YOUR ROLE AND VALUE TO THE ORGANIZATION
- Lead investment attraction for the France market
- Work with the Europe team to support the development of a France FDI Strategy and execution of strategy
- Build and nurture a pipeline of investment opportunities and grow strong client relationships to maximize investment in Waterloo Region, tracking activity via Salesforce
- Develop and communicate annual investment targets to management
- Prepare and execute individual/team quarterly/yearly business plans to meet targets
- Execute lead development/prospecting action plans using various tools such as LinkedIn, HubSpot and Salesforce as well as manage third party lead generation consultants, including contract management
- Provide strategic input and ideas to support the organization’s mandate
- Cultivate strong and productive industry/intermediary relationships and networks to source qualified leads
- Lead the organization and execution of client visits, showcasing the Waterloo Region ecosystem to investment prospects
- Facilitate business-to-business introductions for local and international companies
- Participate in events, both locally and in-market to raise awareness of Waterloo Region
- Working with the Waterloo EDC Marketing and Business Development teams to identify and continuously improve client-focused content, sales processes and best practices
- Travelling to France quarterly to meet with industry and government partners, prospects and clients

YOUR EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary degree in Business or related field
- 3-5 years of sales/business development/investment attraction experience, understanding of complex B2B selling and client account management
- Experience with the France market is an asset
- Fluent in French an asset but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective client interaction and relationship building
- Self-starter and team player with the ability to work independently and offer support where needed
- Knowledgeable and passionate about Waterloo Region and economic development

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
