**Bilingual Underwriting Associate**

You will join a 10 person team in the Wholesale Underwriting Group. Acting as an underwriter for other brokerages and insurance companies, your responsibilities will include quoting and reviewing coverages for large books of business and writing performance reports.

**We will count on you to**:
- Identify opportunities to offer solutions to existing client/broker accounts by evaluating applicant situation and circumstances and determining insurance risk.
- Review and analyze submissions without assistance.
- Examine risk of loss by studying rate tables, codes, computer records and references to determine appropriate terms and conditions for coverage. Issues insurance policies by calculating premium rates; negotiating treaty, facultative, quota share, aggregate catastrophe, or clash cover reinsurance terms; describing insurable conditions; specifying exclusions and endorsements; obtaining second signatures.
- Issue insurance policies by calculating premium rates, negotiating insurance terms and conditions with the brokers, describing insurable conditions, and specifying exclusions and endorsements in accordance with underwriting policy. Deny insurance policies by identifying loss predictions; forwarding recommendations.
- Assist with identifying new business opportunities to generate new accounts while maintaining a book of existing business. Provide insurance information by answering questions and requests; explaining company underwriting policies.
**What you need to have**:
- 5 years as an Underwriter in commercial, auto or property liability
- Skilled at Excel (simple formulas) and Word
- Excellent communication skills in English and French
- Good analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to train newcomers
- CIP and / or RIBO are assets
