**Location**: Métis Nation of Alberta Provincial Office, 11738 Kingsway NW, Edmonton, AB.
**Position Status**: Full time (40 hours/week), Permanent.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with professionals to assess and identify clients' needs and participate in the development of care plans focusing on information identified in the social work assessment.
- Liaise with social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
- Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community.
- Advocate for the Mental Health and Wellness of Métis Albertans.
- Advocate for equitable access of Métis Albertans to programs and services throughout Alberta.
- Provide Métis cultural competency training to external service providers where appropriate.
- Build relationships and networking opportunities with internal and external partners.
- Record social work data and chart involvement with clients, assessments, interventions, progress, and discharge notes.
- Other tasks as directed.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Experience with community engagement initiatives, program development and implementation.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Highly collaborative with history of engaging stakeholders and building productive relationships across a wide range of team members, community provides, and families.
- Ability to be empathetic and non-judgmental when assisting Métis Albertans.
- Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with community members.
- Positive, helpful attitude towards assisting Métis Albertans.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to provide constructive and positive feedback to others and be able to accept the same.
- Person-centric and flexible individual with an appetite for problem solving, engaging, and motivating others.

- Demonstrated ability to record and maintain confidential client information.
- An understanding of the MNA and Métis culture.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Social Work accompanied with current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers or BC Association of Social Workers.
- Frontline experience in a client support role is preferred.
- Experience working in mental health and addictions.
- Training in trauma informed care is an asset.
**Other Requirements**
- Must be willing to travel within Alberta.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Acceptable attainment and annual maintenance of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check and an Intervention Record Check is required.
