**SUMMARY**:
Under general supervision of the Restorative and BSO Manager performs a variety of activities related to the provision of behavioral support, restorative care and activation programs to those Residents living within Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged consistent with Belvedere’s Mission, Service Philosophy Policies and Procedures, and applicable Regulations and guidelines.

This position shall assist in the provision of behavioral support, restorative care and activation programs that concentrate primarily on supporting and encouraging all Residents to maintain independent, healthy and happy lifestyles. The guiding principal shall be that the programs will reflect the current and ever changing preferences of the resident population, promote choice, participation, and wellness in a positive proactive environment consistent with Belvedere’s Mission.

**EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be deemed qualifying. Mandatory and preferred qualifications are as follows:
1. Secondary School graduation diploma - mandatory; and

2. Successful completion of a Physiotherapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma or equivalent;
3. Education or experience in seating and mobility and wheelchair maintenance-preferred; and

4. Experience working in a restorative, activation or recreation/leisure position-preferred; and

5. Education or experience of dementia care-preferred;

Delivers person and family-centred care, supported by evidence-informed clinical best practices, which recognize both the uniqueness of each person (i.e., personhood) and an awareness of one’s own contribution to that relationship, including personal attitudes, values and actions.

**Knowledge**

Within respective scope of practice, demonstrates knowledge of dementia, complex mental health, substance use disorders and neurological conditions and their impact on the person, their family members and other care partners (e.g., health care professionals, front-line staff ).

**Assessment, care planning and capacity building**

Within respective scope of practice, conducts and/or contributes to a thorough assessment and recommends, implements and evaluates therapeutic interventions and approaches with respect to the expressed behaviors

**Restorative Care Approaches**:
Assists in the planning, implementation and coordination of a variety of therapeutic, wellness and rehabilitative programs that will meet the needs and abilities of the Residents.

Pay: $23.61-$24.29 per hour
