**Position: Accounting Assistant**

**Reports to: Snr. Accountant, Dartmouth**

**Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week**

**What the position is about**:
**Key responsibilities**
- Prepare monthly compliance reports: including HST reasonability reports, sales tax returns, and tire tax returns
- Remit monthly corporate tax instalments and payments for sales tax and tire tax
- Process and submit monthly lease portfolio invoices
- Maintain and update lease portfolio records
- Process customer AR payments as needed
- Support Credit Manager with collections and overrides
- Post and reconcile bank and credit card transactions monthly
- Post warranty credits weekly
- Reconcile cash till and deposit cheques daily
- Post monthly employee expense reports
- Review bi-weekly payrolls (providing payroll backup support occasionally)
- Answer general accounting department phone calls and redirect as necessary
- Greeting admin department visitors
- Support the business with various projects and tasks as needed

**Required qualifications and skills**
- Experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- Positive customer focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Degree/Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
