Event Assistant

**JOB SUMMARY**: This position, will report to the Director of Fundraising and Teams. The Event Assistant will help with the coordination of festival related planning, projects and events.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Communicate with various festival stakeholders during the planning and implementation phases.
- Assist with coordinating event logistics such as site planning, researching potential supplier and programming options, and requesting quotes.
- Assist with event management during festival events in conjunction with the Operations Team.
- Liaise with Board of Directors and other event staff as necessary; other related duties, as required by event staff team.
**SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, recent experience using MS Office programs (Excel in particular), and strong written and verbal skills are required.
- Previous special event experience preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and on various projects simultaneously and autonomously.
- Bilingual in French and English would be considered an asset.
**ADDITIONAL QUALFICIATIONS REQUIRED**:
Eligible to participate in Ontario’s Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:
**1.** An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)
**2.** Live in Ontario
**3.** Legally authorized to work in Canada
**4.** Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
**a.** Established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular or maternity/parental benefits ONLY)
**b.** Paid employee payroll premiums, i.e., employed in Canada, in **five** of any five of the last ten years while earning an annual income of at least $2000 (gross).
**REMUNERATION**:
$620 (gross) per week for 32 hours ($19.375 average per hour) provided by the Province of Ontario.
**Salary**: $620.00 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
