Thompson Construction Group has earned a solid reputation as an industry leader in all aspects of light and heavy civil earth moving, highway, mining and plant sites construction projects. We are looking for Heavy Equipment Operators (**Dozer, Excavator, Grader, Utility **and **Haul Truck) **for our operations located in the **Fort McMurray area.**

**Responsibilities**
- Operate equipment as it applies to loading trucks, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, hauling, etc.
- Conduct a pre-operational equipment inspection checklist before operating
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Thompson Construction Group’s safe work practices, policies and procedures
- Report all incidents, near-misses and damage of the equipment to site supervision
- Ability to identify hazards
- Must be dependable and reliable
**Qualifications**
- 3 years of similar work experience is preferred for Haul Truck Drivers and 5 years for Operators
- Experience working in civil earthworks is preferred
- Applicants must be 18 years of age
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and live-in remote camps, working a rotational schedule
- CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
- Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive and First Aid is considered an asset
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
