Heavy Equipment Operator

**Job Overview**
The Container Guy is looking for a capable Heavy Equipment Operator to take on industrial lot development projects during the summer season. This role is ideal for someone who’s confident working independently, experienced with site prep, and able to manage their own schedule and tasks effectively.
**Responsibilities**
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, graders, gravel trucks, loaders etc.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Clear, excavate, grade, and compact industrial lots according to plans.
- Execute excavation and grading tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage and project timelines.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed.
**Requirements**:
- **Valid 1A Driver’s License** - _This is a must._
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Commercial driving experience is a plus for transporting equipment between job sites.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret grade stakes and site plans.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures at all times.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and self-driven
**Considered an Asset**
- Welding or mechanical repair skills
- Flexibility and willingness to take on new or different duties during the off-season
**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
