The Oral Health Branch (OHB) at Health Canada is looking to fill positions at the DE-03 (Dentists) group and level with various tenures to deepen Health Canada's oral health delivery expertise. These individuals will join OHB's Oral Health Centre of Expertise to support the delivery of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree in dentistry from a recognized school of dentistry.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience analysing, evaluating and interpreting oral health literature and research.
Experience providing expert scientific and interpretative guidance on issues related to oral health.
Recent* and significant** experience in providing oral health care in a clinical environment.
- Recent : Within the last 5 years.

**Significant : Minimum 5 years and worked in a clinical setting the last 3 years.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of the principles and best practices in preventive dentistry and oral health care for oral diseases, injuries, and defects of the teeth and their supporting structures.
Knowledge of current oral health delivery and technical competencies used to deliver oral health care in Canada including to patients with diverse or complex oral health care needs.

ABILITIES

Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to provide professional/technical supervision of others.
Ability to assess clinical files and provide advice to management on whether clinical cases meet criteria for approval within program coverage rules.
