Applications are being accepted for the position of Groundskeeper l at the Vernon Golf and Country Club.

This is a seasonal position $18.23/HR falling under the Collective Agreement CUPE Local 626. It is open to anyone looking work for the rest of the golf season with potential into next. FT and PT positions available.

**DEFINITION**:
The Groundskeeper I, under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, participates in the daily maintenance, construction, and improvement projects of the golf course property.

**TYPICAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Performs most regular maintenance practices required to maintain the golf course playing and non-playing surfaces, buildings, and support structures at consistently high standards as outlined by the Vernon Golf Club.
- Primarily operates most types of light equipment associated with golf course maintenance.
- Performs some duties and operates some equipment associated with golf course construction and course improvement projects.
- Assists in watering and syringing practices (both manually and automated) to a variety of plantings on the golf course property.
- Shall perform other duties as may be required from time to time. The Groundskeeper I reports to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent. In the absence of both the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent they report to the Lead Hand.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Physical strength, stamina and agility
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- A willingness to perform any task that advances the Vernon Golf Clubs objectives
- Experience an asset but training is provided
