We’re hiring for part-time (casual) Rescued Food Drivers who:

- Want to pick up some extra work on occasion to supplement their income
- Want to work for a nonprofit and create positive impacts in the community
- Enjoy working independently but also like meeting new people
- Have strong communication skills and can also use a smartphone
- Have a valid BC Driver’s License, and can comfortably lift up to 50lbs or more as needed

**About Food Stash Foundation**

Food Stash Foundation is a registered Canadian charity founded in 2016 that rescues good, surplus food directly from suppliers and redirects it to other organizations and food insecure households in a dignified way, while reducing the environmental impact of food waste. Whether it is through our Rescued Food Box program, our Rescued Food Market, or through our partnerships with over 30 other local non-profit organizations, we are on a mission to reduce hunger, reduce our environmental footprint, and bring awareness to how our food choices impact our environment and our health.

We are looking to build a small team of casual/on-call Rescued Food Drivers to jump in when one of our regular drivers is sick or on holiday. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Rescued Food Drivers are responsible for picking up rescued food from food donors and delivering food to our community partners around the Vancouver area. Typical days start at 8am and finish by 2pm, and include picking up food from 4-5 food donors and delivering it to 5-7 community partners.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Comfortable driving or learning to drive a 3T truck (a special driver’s license is not necessary and we will provide training as necessary)
- Self-motivated, sound judgment and excellent interpersonal skills
- Organized and punctual
- Clean driving record and criminal record check, and proof of vaccination

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Rescued Food Driver performs all activities related to the pick-up and delivery of rescued food, and is specifically responsible for the following duties:

- Primary Duties_
- Travel to pick-up and delivery locations including but not limited to grocery stores, local non-profit charities and Food Stash warehouse
- Communicate with partners and members of the public in a kind and empathetic manner, aligned with the values of Food Stash Foundation
- Operate the Food Stash vehicle in a responsible manner
- Communicate with Operations Manager to ensure routes are completed smoothly and issues are addressed as needed

**Job Details**:

- Schedule: As needed; we endeavour to provide at least 1 weeks’ notice for any available shifts
- Location: Work days start & finish at Food Stash warehouse
- Expected start date: As soon as possible
