**Videographer - Temporary Full-Time**
(1 year contract with the opportunity for extension)
Reports to: Marketing Manager
The Videographer will primarily be responsible for the filming, directing and editing of the video assignments of Fanshawe Student Union (FSU). The Videographer will prepare sets and locations for filming, operate cameras and recording equipment to capture video content and will be responsible for the scheduling and planning of all steps and processes required for video completion. This position is also responsible for editing all video content and producing final material. The Videographer must research video topics and content and creatively determine how best to film material for the FSU. The Videographer will also supervise student videographers periodically. Other duties may be assigned as required.
This position will work up to 35 hours per week, including evening and weekend work.
**Job Duties**
- Film, direct and edit a minimum of 2 video assignments or more per week as directed by the FSU
- Ensure all videos follow AODA requirements
- Create video content for FSU social media as required
- Prepare sets/locations for filming, including, camera positioning, assembling recording equipment, addressing lighting and audio needs, placement of props, etc.
- Operate cameras and other assistive recording devices to capture content suitable for assigned film topics
- Creatively utilize different videography methods/techniques to analyze different filming options to enhance the content of videos
- Schedule production and shooting times and book any necessary locations and or equipment needed for filming
- Shoot video assignments within the financial parameters and timeframe determined by the FSU
- Determine supplies/resources needed for film assignments and request them from Manager, Publications & Communications
- Research information pertaining to film assignments to ensure quality and authenticity of video content.
- Prepare relevant questions for interviews
- Transfer video material to FSU computer system for editing and post-production
- Produce and assemble final video material; ensuring technical quality and overall effectiveness of content
- Test, perform, and manage all video equipment
- Supervise student videographers
- Conduct work in a professional and efficient manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education in filmmaking, photography or a related program
- Minimum 2 years of experience in videography
- Knowledge of filmmaking techniques, including, video shooting, editing and production
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically After Effects
- Live streaming experience an asset
- Ability to use different video cameras and other recording materials (i.e., tripods, slide tracks, microphones, lenses, filters, etc.)
- Excellent interviewing skills
- Ability to integrate video content to an online medium and as part of website design an asset
- Creative use of camera angles, set locations and visual props
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines under stress and interruptions
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
- Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills
- Ability to assign and direct work to other employees, problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

**Work Conditions**
- Interacts with person(s) filmed for FSU videos, employees, management, and the public at large
- Manual dexterity required to use a video camera(s), recording equipment and desktop computer and peripherals
- Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required
- Evening or weekend work as required
- Travel may be required
