Jr. Scrum Master
**WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?**
In this role, you will work as a **Jr. **Scrum Master** for a lab in the **RBC Client360 Program**. We have partnered with Salesforce to build out our next generation CRM Advisor Platform, the cornerstone of this critical transformational program. Together, we’re aiming to take a giant leap towards our goal of becoming a digitally enabled relationship bank.
Of course, the journey would not be possible without world class talent. We’re searching for a Scrum Master to lead one of our Agile squads in the CRM & Advisor Technologies group. You’ll be joining a diverse and inclusive agile lab delivering solutions on Salesforce’s Financial Services Cloud and Lighting platform part of an Agile Program. Here within the lab, we’re pulling all the stops and employing the latest in technology and Scaled Agile practices to help bring to life the CRM Advisor Platform of the future here at RBC. **WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- This role is part of a cross-functional squad and is responsible for organizing and facilitating Agile practices and ceremonies (retros, scrum of scrums, other squad-wide sessions) to drive adoption of agile best practices within the squad. You will:
- Create and support a self-organized and collaborative scrum team
- Identify opportunities for improvement and guide the team in the continuous improvement of their Agile practice
- Be available to help resolve challenges, identify and remove impediments, and protect the team from distractions to allow them to delivery on their sprint goals and focus on what they do best
- Coach and support team members and stakeholders to develop and improve agile ways of working, develop agile maturity and steer them towards best practices in a way that delivers value
- Facilitate discussions leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team, and help identify and manage dependencies, ensuring dependent work is planned and tracked appropriately
- Create and support a positive work environment that promotes skills development, quality, innovation and teamwork, and ultimately drives value for RBC’s customers
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, servant leadership, and the ability to gain buy-in for change
- Interact with a range of stakeholders and be responsible for building and improving relationships between the squad and external stakeholders
- Help the team assess risks, and develop/implement risk mitigation strategies
**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?**
**MUST HAVE**:
- Knowledge of Scrum Master / Agile
- Knowledge of Agile delivery management workflows (agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, release burndown)
- Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
- Ability to be a team player who adapts well to changing needs
- Strong problem solving and communications skills, ability to effectively prioritize own work backlog and focus across several streams of work.
**NICE-TO-HAVE**:
- Certified Scrum Master / Agile Practitioner with Advanced knowledge of JIRA to drive Scrum/Kanban and Confluence
- Experience within a financial institution managing digital products delivery
- Prior project management experience
