Mishka Social Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between existing services in Hamilton and the Muslim, newcomer, immigrant, and refugee communities. While we focus on these groups, our services are inclusive and available to everyone, regardless of faith.

The name “Mishka” comes from an Arabic term that refers to a niche in a wall where lamps are placed, spreading light to the surrounding areas. This symbolizes our mission to be a source of support and guidance, helping our clients illuminate and enhance their lives and communities.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Co-lead parenting sessions, providing support and guidance to participants.
- Collaborate with the program team to develop and implement effective parenting strategies.
- Address cross-cultural parenting challenges, respecting the cultural backgrounds and traditions of participants.
- Assist in organizing and managing program activities and events.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.

**Qualifications**:

- Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and be able to commute to Hamilton.
- Experience in parenting support, counseling, or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Mishka Social Services.

This volunteer position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in need. If you are passionate about social services and have the necessary skills and experience, we encourage you to apply.
