**Position Summary**:
The Program Manager, JPSD Academic Programs, provides strategic and operational leadership for the Bachelor of Law Enforcement Studies (BLES), Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Law Enforcement Studies (PBDLES), Law Enforcement Studies Diploma (LESD), and related academic offerings. This role is responsible for the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of these programs to ensure they meet academic standards, reflect best practices in teaching and learning, and remain responsive to the needs of students and the broader public safety sector.
Working in close partnership with the Program Director, the Program Manager leads the implementation of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning (QAAP) tasks, including curriculum review, course articulation, and stakeholder engagement. The role also ensures compliance with institutional policies and procedures, particularly those related to academic accommodations, misconduct, and student supports, fostering a learning environment that is equitable, inclusive, and student-centered.
The Program Manager communicates with and provides guidance and support to faculty and instructional staff, manages recruitment and performance, and represents the department on governance committees. Through strong academic leadership and effective collaboration, the Program Manager contributes to program excellence and the success of both learners and institutional partners.
Moreover, they draft instructional contracts and monitor instructional quality and performance to ensure alignment with JIBC’s academic standards and policies.
The Program Manager helps to develop and monitor program budgets and allocates program resources.
On the whole, the Program Manager contributes to the success of the division by ensuring that programs, processes, and services align with JIBC’s strategic direction and divisional goals.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognised post-secondary institution is required. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum three (3+) years’ experience in a managerial, supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a unionized environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in progressively more responsible positions, preferably in the post-secondary sector or a sector related to JIBC’s mandate.
- 2+ years Post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
- Documented ongoing education/professional development in related areas.
- Knowledge and experience in curriculum development process, adult education principles, and multiple content delivery models.
- Current with latest developments and trends in e-learning and adult education.
- Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills together with an ability to ensure effective decision-making within a collegial environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and resolving conflict in a professional and constructive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical and collaborative behaviours consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
- Experience in producing support materials for students, staff, and faculty.
- Models respectful and inclusive workplace behaviours, and demonstrates a commitment to meaningful outcomes in diversity, equity, and Indigenization.
- Ability to think innovatively and creatively in planning and developing a fresh approach to existing activities, with a continuous improvement perspective and incorporating best practices.
