**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- As Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining rigorous accounting practices and supporting the company’s ongoing development projects.
- This position has a strong accounting focus—responsible for maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and overseeing month-end and year-end close processes.
- You will also assist in updating cash flow forecasts, P&L analysis, and preparing financial statement packages for projects as well as the corporate entity.

**What You Bring**:

- ** Your Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
- Strong understanding of real estate, development, or construction industry accounting (asset).
- Deep knowledge of ASPE and experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and maintaining general ledgers.
- Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, TimberScan, and/or ERP systems), advanced Excel skills required; Power BI a plus.
- Experience with tax filings, payroll processing, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Accounting & Records Management**
- Maintain accurate books and records for corporate and project entities.
- Reconcile bank accounts, subsidiary ledgers, intercompany balances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.

**Financial Reporting**
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements and reporting packages for development projects and at the corporate level.
- Ensure all reporting conforms with ASPE and internal company policies.
- Prepare and consolidate financial information for management review and external audits.

**Cash Flow & P&L Analysis**
- Update and monitor cash flow reports for the corporate entities.
- Assist with monthly P&L analysis, highlighting variances and providing actionable insights.

**Audit, Compliance & Controls**
- Support external and internal audit processes, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure integrity of financial information and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and ensure timely tax filings, payroll processing, and regulatory submissions.

**Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)**
- Expertise in financial analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
- Strong understanding of key financial metrics and ratios.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Strong ability to conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
- Proficiency in implementing FP&A tools and dashboards for real-time reporting and decision-making.
