The Steward is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the pots, pans and dishes as well as the kitchen area.

**The primary areas of focus for this position are**:

- Ensure a clean and safe kitchen area.
- Wash pots, pans and dishes. Operate an automatic dishwasher.
- Sweep and wash floors of kitchen and surrounding areas.
- Remove garbage from various locations in the hotel (i.e. main kitchen, HCBG kitchen, staff room).
- Embrace all Hotel standards and our vision, mission, and values.
- Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently, and politely to all requests.
- Help create a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation with peers and leaders.
- Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Able to handle a physically demanding workload which includes heavy lifting - up to approximately 40 pounds, pushing and standing for long periods of time.
- Able to organize job tasks efficiently and be thorough
- Reliable individual; flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- WHMIS. Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
- A team player; able to communicate effectively

**POSITION DETAILS**:

- Involves working in a busy, hot kitchen environment

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $15.68-$16.68 per hour
