Systems Testing/QA Specialist (HL7/FHIR) Back to All Jobs [social_share] Our client requires six (6) testers to lead the design and execution of comprehensive testing strategies, including manual and automated test plans, scripts, and data for complex health-related systems. Responsibilities include performing functional and integration testing across UI, backend, and web services, developing automated test suites, and ensuring compliance with healthcare messaging standards such as HL7 and FHIR. The role requires close collaboration with project teams to support system analysis, design, implementation, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle Work is hybrid with up to 3 days a week onsite at client location in Toronto, ON. Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid) Responsibilities Duties Include: Contribute towards development of testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing Provide test estimates to Test lead for assigned testing tasks Execute functional & system integration testing for UI and backend systems, connectivity/error handling testing, and other test types as defined in the test strategy/plan. Develop automated test scripts and test data and integrate into automated test suite Develop test plans, test scripts and test cases and execute these against the various components. Mandatory Requirements Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software systems 2-3 years’ knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7 messages and data structures 2-3 years’ knowledge and hands-on experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) messages and data structures 2-3 years’ experience working with ORACLE, ETL, SQL databases and queries 2-3 years’ hands-on experience with UI and Web Services automation tools such as SOAPUI, Selenium, Selenium WebDriver, JIRA, Dexter, Data Driven automated testing Desirable Requirements Public Sector experience Experience testing provincial lab systems / clinical systems Experience with testing RESTful APIs Experience with testing system accesses based on OAuth authentication/authorization and JWT tokens Experience working in Agile-Scrum environment, test planning, test case writing, test case execution, test reporting, manual and automated testing Knowledgeable in CI/CD – Jenkins, Maven, GitLab Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms Experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools
